About the Paarl Rotary Wine Auction

This annual prestige auction, previously referred to as The Wine Auction, averages around 80 exciting lots plus a silent Art, Hand Woven Carpet and Jewellery Auction.  Many of the Live Wine Lots are combined with Exciting Hospitality vouchers ranging from Golf to Wild Life Sanctuaries and everything in between! Large format bottles, vertical collections, and some hard to find collectors’ wines will be offered. Proceeds from the Auction will be used to fund numerous community projects supported by the Rotary Club of Paarl.

Rotary are working closely together with individuals, businesses and corporates alike. Participating in this initiative is a great opportunity to get involved in supporting local Community Projects!

Auction Date, Time & Format

Guests arrive from 10h00. The Estate draws on the history and character of the surrounding Paarl countryside – ushering through its doors a classic 17th century European style of elegant spaces, rare finds and fine touches.


This location is truly unique and newly renovated function venue is waiting to embrace you with its charm. The elegant, air-conditioned venue offers exquisite views and comfortably seats up to 200 people banquet style or 160 for a dinner dance. The swimming pool area provides an ideal backdrop for pre-dinner drinks making Nantes Estate a perfect location for weddings.

The suitable flow and convivial amenities provides an ideal platform for conferences, special events, training seminars, corporate entertainment, exhibitions and product launches. The stylish board room flows into a beautifully decorated library cum sitting room which in turn opens onto a ‘stoep’ overlooking the vineyards and mountains. The boardroom is well equipped and hosts a mini bar plus flat screen television showcasing the various international sport and news channels.


Auction Item viewing stops at 10h45 when guests sit down and the annual auction starts, facilitated by Dan Nichol, as MC and Auctioneer. To ensure that some of the valued items can be secured by bidders early on, Silent Auction Items carries a guaranteed bid which leaves bidders free to bid for the sought after LIVE ITEMS that comprises a large selection of  wines coupled with exceptional Hospitality Prizes.


A sit down lunch, served during the break, provide the ideal opportunity to catch up and network with colleagues, friends and business associates while making sure that the last of the Silent bids are in before closing of that section.

Tickets for this prestigious event are sold through various channels including Rotary Club Members, The Auction Committee, Through Reservation either ONLINE or by Filling out an APPLICATION FORM. Pre-registration ensures quick flow of guests from the reception area through the pre-auction drinks and viewing areas to the beautiful venue where background entertainment create an atmosphere of vibrancy and excitement.
